Jefferson County PWSD No. 12 offers a variety of convenient payment options for our customers. Simply choose the option that best suits your needs.
Please note: All bills are sent out on the last business day of each month. If you provide your email address, you can receive your bill via email in addition to, or in place of, a mailed bill. Bills are always due on the 15th of the following month. A late charge of 10% of the water bill amount is added to unpaid bills on the 16th of each month. If a bill is unpaid on the 4th Tuesday of the month, the account is subject to disconnection. PWSD No. 12 is not responsible if the postal service does not deliver your bill. If you have not received your bill by the fifth of the month, please contact our office for a replacement.
Payment By Mail
If paying by check or money order through the mail, please send all payments with the small bill stub you received from us. To avoid late fees, please mail your payment at least five-seven business days before the due date specified on your bill. Again, we cannot control the postal service and late bills will incur a late fee.
Payment At Our Office
You may pay your bill in person at our office address. We accept cash, check, or money orders at our payment window and our after-hours drop-box located to the right of our front door with no additional fees. Mastercard, Visa, Discover Card and eCheck payments can also be made at our payment window during regular office hours. A convenience fee will apply to these payments as noted below. To avoid longer wait times, please note that Mondays, Fridays and the 15th of the month are normally very busy.
Payment By Phone
Payments can be made via our 24/7 automated phone payment system. Please have your account number handy, call (888) 501-9332 and follow the prompts. A convenience fee will apply as noted below.
Online Bill Payment
Bill payment can be made using our online Customer Web Portal (CWP). There is no set-up fee, however a convenience fee will apply to each transaction as noted below. To set up online bill payments, you will need your account number. Then simply click the "Pay Your Bill Now" button and follow the instructions. If this is your first time using our portal, you will be asked to enter your account number, verify the account shown is yours, and choose a username and password for future access. Our office staff will be happy to assist with this process during regular business hours if needed.
Convenience Fees
All electronic payments will be charged a convenience fee regardless if the payment is made online, over the phone or in person. This convenience fee is collected by our processor for their service. PWSD No. 12 only receives the bill amount.
The fee for all credit card and electronic payments, including eCheck is 2.5% of the transaction amount.
Payment Through Financial Institution
Many financial institutions offer their customers the ability to pay their bills via an online bill payment service (through your bank's website). Normally, these services debit the customer's checking or savings account to pay the bill. Depending on the financial institution, they may or may not charge a fee for the service. Your bank will mail a paper check to us, so payments may take up to seven business days to post to the customer's account. Please plan accordingly when making payments using this method to avoid late fees. You may want to consult with your bank for more information.
