* UPDATE As of Feb. 12th: The lab with the water sample from the Feb. 9th water main leak is closed for an extended period of time. PWSD#12 has drawn a second sample to have tested at a different lab. The new results are expected no later than the afternoon of Feb. 13th. Please continue to boil water until there is a new update with the sample results. We apologize for any inconvenience.
There is a precautionary boil order for the customers affected by the leak at the intersection of Hwy TT and Danby Rd on 2/9/2026. We will send the sample to the laboratory and post the results as soon as they are available. Results are expected 24-48 hours after 8:00 am submission on 2/10/2026. Boil order tips and guidelines are below.
KEY SAFETY MEASURES
Boil Water: Bring water to a 1-minute rolling boil.
Drinking and Coooking: Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, food preparation, making ice and brushing teeth.
Hygiene: Use bottled or boiled water for brushing teeth, washing hands and washing dishes.
Showering: Adults can shower, but should avoid swallowing water: sponge baths are recommended for young children.
Pets: Give pets boiled or bottled water.
WHAT TO AVOID
Ice Makers: Turn off automatic ice makers and discard all ice made during the advisory.
Filter Systems: Do not rely on water filters; they do not remove bacteria.
Dishes: Use disposable plates and cups if possible
AFTER THE ADVISORY IS LIFTED
Flush Pipes: Run all cold water faucets for 5 minutes
Disinfect surfaces: Clean surfaces with a bleach solution (1 teaspoon per gallon of water)
